Roof Coating

Roof Coating Applications in the Sarasota, FL & Bradenton, FL Areas

While commercial roofs are, on average, built to last longer and be more durable than residential roofs, commercial roofs will still wear down after a while. Many times, though not always, roof restoration is a less expensive alternative to full roof replacement. Roof restoration usually involves the application of a roof coating for added protection. Roof coatings can add at least a decade onto the lifespan of your roof, and offers the following other benefits:

  • Cooler Climate - Since roof coatings reflect the sun’s UV rays instead of absorbing them, the interior of your property will stay at a cooler temperature.
  • Less Energy Costs - Because the building will be cooler, there will be less stress placed on your HVAC systems. You will use less energy as a result, and save money on your monthly utility bills.
  • Better Energy Star Rating - Since roof coatings have a positive impact on your energy use, they can raise your Energy Star Rating as well.
  • Leak Prevention - An extra layer of protection will keep those cracks and leaks from popping up in your roof.

Beiler Premier Roofing offers all sorts of roof coatings, including acrylic and silicone.

Additional Coating Options

In addition to roof coatings, Beiler Premier Roofing has single-ply membranes available, such as EPDM, PVC, and TPO.

EPDM, or ethylene propylene diene monomer, membranes are constructed mainly using synthetic rubber. They make a good choice for warehouses, hotels, shopping centers, and universities. They are cost-effective and resistant to the sun’s rays, abrasion, and hail. They’re durable and maintain their flexibility when the weather gets colder.

PVC, or polyvinyl chloride, membranes are made using heat-welded seams, which make a watertight seal over the roof. PVC membranes can be installed over the existing roof without a problem. They also don’t need any adhesives, caulks, or tapes to install. They are very resistant to fire, wind, and chemicals. They are also not affected by bacteria or fungi.

If you’re on a budget, TPO, or thermoplastic olefin, membranes are an excellent choice. While they naturally repel UV rays, the white color also helps to reflect heat. In addition to resisting UV rays, they are resistant to tearing, acids, dirt, and chemicals. Like EPDM membranes, they retain flexibility in colder temperatures. And just like PVC membranes, they can be installed right over your existing roof.
